Mission Statement

The mission of “Good Night Sleep Tight” is to show love, in the Name of Christ to families with young children by encouraging the growth of strong, caring, families through increasing skills and knowledge on being supportive and loving parents.

The “Good Night Sleep Tight” program addresses five key components:

• Literacy
• Bonding
• Hygiene
• Establishing Routine
• Sleeping habits

The “Good Night Sleep Tight” kit contains:

• Fleece blanket
• Book
• Toothbrush/toothpaste
• Hand Soap
• Night-time check-off chart

Information on various topics related to caring for young children.

PROCEDURE

1.                   Parents of young children are enrolled in the Best Care for Better Babies (BC) program or Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.

2.                 Staff of BC and PAT teach parents the importance of establishing healthy routines  and provide training to increase parents’ skills on being supportive, loving parents.

3.                 Parent(s) receive a post card to send to Love INC indicating their desire to receive a “Good Night Sleep Tight” kit.

4.                 The parent(s) are contacted by a church volunteer to arrange delivery of the “Good Night Sleep Tight” kit.

*The kit is given free of charge after the above process has taken place.

GETTING INVOLVED

Ø      Donate brand new:

-                     children’s books

-                     children’s toothbrushes

-                     toothpaste

-                     hand soap

     Bring your donations to First Reformed Church (secretary’s office) or to Love INC during office hours.

Ø      Volunteer to:

-                     help assemble kits

-                     make fleece tie blankets

-                     deliver kits to families
